Author Timothy A. Weeks will be the guest speaker at the Jefferson Reading Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 13. The meeting will be held outside on the patio of New Orleans favorite, The Bulldog, on Canal Boulevard. Weeks will be reading excerpts from his latest book, Goldie’s Search for Silver, demonstrating how its montage illustrations are created by blending photos and paintings, as well as stressing the importance of regional literature in the classroom. Weeks will be also be autographing copies of his three Wise Mullet books and drawing prizes, including an author visit to one lucky school. The Jefferson Reading Council is an affiliate of the Louisiana Reading Association and the International Reading Association.
